The RAF Harrier crash landing at kandahar in May 2009 The pilot was safe and the aircraft was a total loss Added: 12/17/2010
The Ramstein airshow disaster was one of the world's deadliest airshow disasters. Sixty-seven spectators and three pilots died, and 346 spectators sustained serious injuries in the resulting explosion and fire. The accident occurred when 3 aircraft from the Italian Frecce Tricolori demonstration collided during a maneuver. Added: 12/17/2010
A collection of Aircraft Carrier mishaps and accidents.
An arrestor cable snaps during a landing cycle for an F/A-18 Hornet. Several deck crew members were injured. The aircraft was lost and the pilot successfully ejected. Added: 10/30/2010
Video footage of the Mach 3 fatal accident involving the D21 Drone and the mothership called the MD21(an SR-71 Sister Ship). The Lockheed Taqboard Program was cancelled after this accident. Added:10/30/2010
Sometimes the sky is crowded, even with only 1 airplane in the sky. A birdstrike during a Red Bull competition results in damage to the aircraft. Added: 07/15/2009
In 1964, a Boeing B-52 bomber on loan from the Air Force back to Boeing for flight test encountered heavy sheer turburlance which broke the entire verticle assembly off of the aircraft in flight. This is the official US Air Force documentry film regarding the event. Added: 4/17/2009
A US Marine Corps F/A-18 Hornet crashes during a flight demonstration at the 1988 MCAS El Toro airshow. The aircraft impacted the runway and was destroyed, the pilot suffered serious injuries but survived the incident. The pilot was performing a box maneuver, which is similar to a loop. Added: 02/07/2009
A good compliation of various aircraft crashes. (Well as good as a video about aircraft crashs can be anyway) Added: 02/07/2009
This is a video of a Helicopter that appears to lose rotor control just at the landing and the rest is bent metal. Added: 7/03/2008
A General Dynamics F-111 is forced to make a gear-up (Belly) landing. The training and skill are really put to work when something like this occurs. Added: 4/12/2008
A forced landing with main gear up due to a malfunction in the Lockheed U-2. The U-2 is so difficult to land that a chase car is used on every landing with another U-2 pilot at the wheel. He talks the U-2 down to the runway. Now take away the landing gear and things get interesting.
The Story of US Navy Lt. Keith Gallagher and the mishap in which he is partially ejected in flight from his position as BN (Bombardier/Navigator) on a US navy Grumman KA-6D operating off of the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN72 in the Indian Ocean in July 1991.
This is my version of a crash compilation video and is titled, "All Gave Some" By: Flybynightvideos.com
This is a video of an inflight mishap between a F/A-18 Hornet and an A-4 Skyhawk during a test program that resulted in the loss of the A-4 Skyhawk. The video has the voice track to explain more details
The infamous "Sabre Dance" crash footage. The aircraft had a landing gear problem and was attempting to land on a foamed runway at Edwards AFB. Lt. Barty R. Brooks got into a high AOA unstable oscillation (The Sabre Dance) while trying to make a slow approach and was fatally wounded in the crash.
An F-111 Ardvark makes an emergency gear up landing.
An Israeli Defense Force F-15 Eagle suffers an in-flight collision during a training mission, the rest of the story is a testament to Mcdonald-Douglas Engineers and the people who built the aircraft and the extreme skill of the pilot.
An Airbus Industries A320 airliner crash at the Mulhouse-Habsheim Airport in 1988. The crash was blamed on pilot error, however many pilos and engineers state a software problem contributed to the event in that the software did not give an auditory warning to the pilots regarding a conflict in aircraft configuration.
A B-17 bomber makes an emergency gear up landing. Hopefully the belly gunner got out of the belly turret. The belly turret usually "departed from the aircraft" during a gear up landing.
This crash of a B-52 Stratofortress bomber during an Airshow practice demonstration was blamed on pilot error. Perhaps there was a major mechanical error. That pilot believed he could fly it, right up to the instant he lost control. Every once in a while a "Hot Stick" step's over the line between military flight operations, and fatal flight profile.
A C-130 Hercules suffers a main gear collapse during landing. The situation is explained in the video.
Some clear video of Aircraft Carrier mishaps.
A F-16 Falcon suffers a bird ingestion upon take off and suffers an engine stall. The aircraft runs out of altitude and speed before a restart cycle can be completed and the pilot leaves the aircraft (ejects). The moment of ejection is seen when the video gets distorted during the ejection sequence.
A Harrier Jump Jet suffers a catastrophic mechanical failure during a sea side demonstration. Note that you see the pilot eject, but you don't see the canopy jettisoned first. The Harrier does not jettison its canopy, there is an explosive charge built into the canopy that blasts a hole in the canopy and the pilot is ejected thru the hole to save time. 2 seconds can be the difference between life and death.
A Bell P-63 King Cobra is lost during an Airshow performance.
In this video, A Spitfire and its pilot are lost during a low altitude loop at an airshow.
This is a video of a C-130 Hercules lost during a test program. The video explains the details.
This is a video of the loss of the XB-70 Valkerie during a flight near Edwards AFB. The event happened during a photo shoot after the test card was completed.
